Our branch has an active commitment to education and action for equity for women and girls through public policy, advocacy and the community. We are active in Legal Advocacy Fund, Tech Trek, Education Foundation and Public Policy. We are a diverse group of professional career women, community activists, elected and appointed public officials, teachers, parents, artists. We are young, seasoned, single, married, single again, employed and retired. |

In honor of our 50th Anniversary Luncheon, Pat Robataille prepared a history of each decade of our organization. She provided wonderful memories and insightful tidbits about what it was like and the challenges women and AAUW faced in each decade. |

| Tech Trek | |
|
Tech Trek is a week-long residential math/science summer camp for girls
entering the eighth grade. Science, math and technology are major fields
where women are under-represented, but these are fields in which women can
and do succeed. The goal of Tech Trek is to provide fun and educational
experiences that will expand the minds of the girls who attend. Campers
create hands-on experiments, take field trips related to science and math,
live on a college campus, get acquainted with other girls who know that
the sciences can be fun, and meet female role models in these fields. (back to top) |
